Minimalist Travel Packing: One-Bag Wardrobe

Minimalist travel packing is about freedom: freedom from heavy luggage, freedom from decision fatigue, and freedom to move quickly between destinations. A well-planned travel wardrobe of 15-20 pieces can handle anything from business meetings to beach dinners.
The Color System
Choose a base color (navy, black, or charcoal) and build everything around it. Add one accent color for variety. Every top should work with every bottom, and every layer should coordinate with the base palette.
Core Pieces
Pack two pairs of bottoms (one casual, one dressy), four tops, one dress or suit piece, two layers (cardigan and jacket), and one versatile pair of shoes. Add underwear, socks, and sleepwear. Everything should be wrinkle-resistant and quick-dry.
Fabric Selection
Merino wool is the traveler's best friend: naturally odor-resistant, temperature-regulating, and quick-drying. Synthetic blends dry fast and resist wrinkles. Avoid heavy cotton and linen, which wrinkle badly and take forever to dry.
